After entering winter, the temperature drops rapidly, and the valve often freezes. If left untreated at this point, the pipeline is prone to failure. If it is in some high-risk conditions, accidents may also occur. Therefore, antifreeze treatment of valves is very important.
Before the temperature drops, it is necessary to carry out a heat preservation work on the valve device to make "winter preparation".
Prepare the required tools: insulation cotton, iron wire, pliers, utility knife, and an effective gas alarm in the gas area.
According to the size of the valve, use a utility knife to cut suitable insulation cotton. Then use the vise to cut the wire that needs to be bundled. When wrapping the insulation cotton, tear the insulation cotton a little so that it bypasses the valve handle to better wrap the valve body. After wrapping the insulation cotton, fix it with wire.
During use, if it is found to be frozen and cannot operate normally, do not hit the valve with a wrench or other heavy objects. The correct way is to close the valve, thaw the valve with steam or hot water, and then open the valve.
If the valve is not used for a long time, the medium in the pipeline should be removed to prevent the pipeline and valve from freezing. It is the obligation and responsibility of every enterprise to ensure safe production. The matter of valve antifreeze can be large or small, and we must not cause an irreversible situation because of temporary negligence.
